Data feels more expensive this year. What do the networks charge per GB and who is cheapest?

In January 2025 the NCC approved tariff rises of up to 50 percent, so most plans went up. In 2025 and early 2026 short plans worked out around 500 to 1,000 naira per GB, and large monthly bundles far less per GB.

Which network is cheapest depends on where you live, because a cheap plan with no signal is worthless. MTN has the widest coverage and Glo and Airtel often the cheaper big bundles; 9mobile is weakest outside big cities.

Buy data inside the network app rather than by shortcode; the app usually shows a bonus plan or two. Check each network's site for this month's prices.
