I can drive but never had a licence. What are the steps and the fee?

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) issues the licence. Steps:

Attend an FRSC-accredited driving school and get its certificate. This is compulsory for a first licence.
Apply on nigeriadriverslicence.org, pay online, and print the acknowledgment.
Go to the FRSC or state VIO centre for a test and biometric capture. You get a temporary licence at once.
Collect the permanent card later at the same centre, usually within two months.

As of 2024 the official fee was just over 10,000 naira for a three-year licence and around 15,000 for five years; the driving school charges separately. Check the FRSC portal for the current fee and do not pay agents for a licence without a test.
