Graduating this year. Do I choose my NYSC state, and what are valid reasons for redeployment?
Your school uploads your name to the NYSC senate list, then you register on portal.nysc.org.ng, pay a small fee for the call-up letter, and get posted. Posting is random; you can list four preferred states but that is not a guarantee.
Redeployment (relocation) is applied for in camp or shortly after, on three grounds: health, marriage (for married women, with a marriage certificate and the husband's evidence of residence), and security. Requests outside these grounds are usually refused.
The monthly allowance rose to 77,000 naira in 2025 after the new minimum wage; confirm the current figure on the NYSC portal. Some states and employers add a state allowance.
