Moving to Lagos for work. What should I expect to pay for a self-contained room or a mini flat, and where?

Lagos rents vary more by area than by size. Figures seen in listings during 2025 and early 2026:

Mainland outer areas (Ikorodu, Agege, Ipaja, Ojo): a self-contained room 300,000 to 600,000 naira a year, a mini flat (room and parlour) 500,000 to 900,000.
Mainland inner (Yaba, Surulere, Gbagada, Ogudu): mini flat 1.2 million to 2.5 million.
Island (Lekki Phase 1, Ikoyi, Victoria Island): one bedroom 3 million to 8 million and above.
